    Temp:  Reversing thermometers or Guildline 8705 CTD probe if tabulated to
    hundredth of degree Celcius
    Bucket thermometer (surface) if tabulated to tenths of degree Celcius.
    Salinity: Guildline Autosal Model 8400 salinometer or Guildline CTD probe
    Salinities reported in pratical salinity units were estimated from measured
    conductivity ratios using The Practical Salinity Scale 1978.
    Conductivity ratio reported is the ratio of conductivity of the sample to that
    of standard sea water at 20 degrees Celcius.
    Sigma-t values computed using UNESCO Equation of State of Seawater.
    Oxygen: The dissolved oxygen content (ml/l) was measured on shipboard by
    Winkler's method using 50ml samples but modified by using reagents recommended
