Channel pH:SBE was removed from events #24, 53 and 90 since the buffer was accidentally left on. The comparison of CTD salinity with bottles during this cruise and 2024-035 during which the same CTD was used, was based on few samples and produced inconsistent results, but neither suggest a large error. It is likely the salinity is reading a little high but within ±0.003psu. The SBE DO sensor has a fairly long response time so data accuracy is not as high when it is in motion as it is during stops for bottles. This will be especially true when vertical DO gradients are large. To get an estimate of the accuracy of the SBE DO data during downcasts (after recalibration), a rough comparison was made between downcast SBE DO and upcast titrated samples. Some of the difference will be due to problems with flushing of Niskin bottles and/or analysis and sampling errors, so the following statement likely underestimates SBE DO accuracy.
