CTD salinity was found to be low by about 0.01psu in comparison to near-bottom bottles. A post-cruise factory calibration confirmed that values were low by at least that much. A correction of +0.01psu was applied. CTD fluorescence compared with surface extracted chlorophyll samples in the usual way, with fluorescence higher at low CHL and dropping to about 60% of CHL when CHL>5ug/L.
