It is recommended that users check extracted chlorophyll values where available. Calibration sampling for this cruise, and others that have used the sensors since the last factory service, were limited to shallow casts in areas where flushing of bottles is likely to be incomplete. Recalibration of both dissolved oxygen and salinity was guided by a post-cruise calibration in early 2024, but there were several other cruises between 2023-008 anad that factory check. The SBE DO sensor has a fairly long response time so data accuracy is not as high when it is in motion as it is during stops for bottles.
