Sampling System --------------- The seawater is drawn from a 5cm standpipe which is flush with the hull and located 2.0 metres below the water line. There is 1.6m of 5cm pipe from the hull to the Moyno 2L6 SSQ pump and the water is then pumped approximately 26 metres through a 3.8cm stainless steel pipe up to the main lab. The system pressure is regulated by a 3.8cm Singer 106RPS valve. In the lab, the seawater flows directly through the Seabird model 21 Sea-cat thermosalinograph and the exhaust goes directly overboard. TSG Data Processing ------------------- There was no loop sampling, intake temperature sensor or flow-rate meter. A comparison of TSG temperature and salinity was made with 11 co-incident CTD casts. The TSG temperature in the lab was higher than the CTD temperature by a median of ~0.20C. There was too much scatter in the comparison to assess the TSG salinity calibration. A proxy for intake temperature was created by subtracting 0.2C from the lab temperature. The TSG salinity was recalibrated based on the result of cruise 2022-070. Temperature:Primary - The temperature data from the lab were recalibrated based on comparison with CTD data to create a proxy for intake temperature.
