It is recommended that users check extracted chlorophyll values where available. The SBE DO sensor hysteresis setting may need to be adjusted slightly as data from below 1700db appeared to be slighty out of line. There are insuffient samples from those depths to be sure. CTD salinity below 1700m may be high by no more than 0.02mL/L. The SBE DO sensor has a fairly long response time so data accuracy is not as high when it is in motion as it is during stops for bottles. This will be especially true when vertical DO gradients are large. To get an estimate of the accuracy of the SBE DO data during downcasts (after recalibration) a rough comparison was made between downcast SBE Dissolved Oxygen and upcast titrated samples. Some of the difference will be due to incomplete flushing of Niskin bottles and imperfect matches in levels from the two data sets as well as errors in sample analysis/collection, so the following statement likely underestimates SBE DO accuracy.
