Samples were transferred to a temperature-controlled room for storage until they were analyzed. Samples were analyzed onshore, in a temperature-controlled lab on a Guildline AutoSalinometer Model 8400B (SN: 73274), which was standardized with IAPSO standard seawater (OSIL, batch P165, expiry 15 April 2024, salinity 34.994 PSU). Uncertainty: Accuracy of less than +/- 0.0001 conductivity ratio (from instrument specifications not observation) All samples were run within five months of collection (January 2023) at the Institute of Ocean Sciences. Precision was determined by collecting 10% of samples as replicates to give a pooled standard deviation (Sp). Sp = 0.0050 PSU, n=7, 0 outliers removed. Once at room temperature, the caps were retightened, secured with parafilm, and the vials inverted for storage. Samples were analyzed at the light stable isotopes geochemistry laboratory of Geotop-UQAM (University of Quebec in Montreal) from 10th to 15th November 2023, up to 15 months after collection. Samples were analyzed using a Micromass model Isoprime isotope ratio mass spectrometer coupled to an AquaPrep system in dual inlet mode. The oxygen isotope composition is reported per mil (o/oo) relative to Vienna-Standard Mean Ocean Water (V-SMOW): del18O [o/oo]= (H2del18O / H2del16O in sample) / (H2del18O / H2del16O of VSMOW) – 1) x 10e3. Three internal standards were used to normalize the results on the VSMOW scale (VSMOW2-SLAP2). A fourth standard was analyzed as an unknown to assess the exactness of the normalization. Uncertainty: Precision was determined by collecting 10% of samples as replicates. Oxygen 18 values during this survey ranged from -6.22 to -3.22 with a pooled standard deviation of 0.18 from 9 replicates and a pooled standard deviation of 0.05 after the removal of 1 outlier(s) samples using Chauvenet's criteria. Samples were thawed for 1 week at 4°C, and let equilibrate to room temperature prior to analysis. Samples were analyzed on a Seal Analytical Nutrient Auto Analyser III (AAIII), following the methods given by Seal Analytical, with the exception of omitting Brij-23 from the ammonium chloride reagent for nitrate + nitrite analysis. All data were corrected for drift, carry over and to Kanso Certified Reference Material (CRM), Lot CR and CO. Salt correction was applied using the water sample salt data. For this dataset, all samples were accidently either half thawed or fully thawed for a day and then refrozen. There is no indication this has negatively affected the data.
