There were a few salinity samples that indicate that the primary CTD salinity was close to bottles. There was no dissolved oxygen sampling. Surface saturation values are low but reasonble for this region and time of year, so there is no evidence of how accurate the DO values are. Based on the usual performance of this type of sensor, values are likely to be slightly low, typically by 2% to 3%. There was some evidence that pressure might be reading high from 2 cruises on the Franklin and a lab test at IOS. However, there is a good deal of evidence from this cruise indicating that the pressure was reliable. That evidence came from observations when the CTD was in water and when it moved through the sea surface at the beginning and end of casts. No recalibration was applied.
