There was no calibration sampling during the SBE25 casts. There was an inter-comparison with an SBE911+ CTD at one station. The SBE25 temperature and salinity compared well on a T-S plot with temperature differences being within 0.005 deg C and salinity differences wtihin 0.002psu. Since the SBE911+ salinity compared well with 5 bottle samples taken during the cruise, the SBE25 salinity is likely reasonably accurate. There was no dissolved oxygen sampling for either CTD in use during this cruise. Surface saturation values are low but reasonable for this region and time of year. Values were generally lower than those from the SBE911+ by about 0.05mL/L. This was the first use of this dissolved oxygen sensor since it was last serviced at the factory. Based on the usual performance of this type of sensor, values are likely to be slightly low, typically by 2% to 3%. No recalibration was applied.
