Between the intake and the pump is a 24 x 24-cm stainless steel strainer (1/2-cm grid). The pump is a Moyno model 2L6 stainless steel progressive cavity pump with flow and pressure control. In the lab the seawater flows through an MSRC VDB-1 VORTEX debubbler and then into a SeaBird model 45 Seacat thermosalinograph. A fluorometer is mounted after the thermosalinograph followed by a flow meter. TSG Data Processing ------------------- Comparisons were made between TSG data and co-incident CTD casts, and 3 loop samples. These indicate that the intake temperature is higher than CTD temperature by roughly 0.01C° and salinity is within 0.014psu. No recalibration was applied. The only editing applied was to remove some data from the opening section when there was no flow in the loop. The flow rate was very steady. Fluorescence data from the TSG track CTD fluorescence well except when values are low. For CTD fluorescence <1ug/L the TSG varies little and reads higher than the CTD.
