Salinity samples were collected in 200 mL type ll glass bottles with disposable nylon inserts and screw caps supplied by Ocean Scientific International Limited. They were analyzed in a temperature-controlled lab at IOS on a Guildline 8400B Salinometer (S/N 68572) standardized with IAPSO standard seawater within 27-31 days after collection. For details see document QF2017-56SAL*.xls. There was no duplicate sampling Nutrient samples were collected in plastic tubes and quick frozen in aluminum blocks stored in -20 freezer. All analysis was performed on frozen samples. All samples were returned to IOS for analysis. Oxygen:Dissolved:SBE data are calibrated using the method described in SeaBird Application Note #64-2, June 2012 revision, except that a small offset in the fit is allowed. Recalibration was based on the results of cruise 2017-06 during which many samples were collected in areas where Niskin bottles are believed to flush well. There were sporadic problems with the primary plumbing for this cruise that are severe near the surface of the downcasts. The secondary temperature and salinity channels were selected for archiving, but there is no alternative for the CTD dissolved oxygen channel. The data in this file come from the upcast portion of the cast where DO problems appear to be less significant.
