Between the intake and the pump is a 24 x 24-cm stainless steel strainer (1/2-cm grid). The pump is a Moyno model 2L6 stainless steel progressive cavity pump with flow and pressure control. In the lab, the seawater flows through MSRC VDB-1 VORTEX debubbler and then into a Seabird model 21 Seacat thermosalinograph. A Wet Labs Wetstar fluorometer (S/N ws3s-953p) is mounted after the debubbler, via a y-connector. TSG Data Processing ------------------- There was no loop sampling. Comparisons were made with temperature, salinity and fluorescence recorded by the CTD during stops. TSG Fluorescence is given in chlorophyll units. For CTD fluorescence <1ug/L the TSG fluorescence reads higher than the CTD, but above that value TSG fluorescence reads lower, at about 80% of CTD fluorescence. It also reads lower than the CHL samples from rosettes at between 4 and 7m. Channel Salinity:T0:C0 is given with only 2 decimal places due to the presence of many large 1-sided spikes. Comparisons with CTD data confirm that values were low. It is believed that the spikes are due to bubbles in the loop; even where no large spikes are seen there is some evidence of the effects of bubbles.
