TSG Data Processing ------------------- There were 64 TSG files with gaps between them. There was no loop sampling and no intake thermistor. There were few CTD data available above 4m for comparison with the TSG. The TSG temperature reads higher than the 4m CTD temperature by a median value of 0.08 C degrees. Some of that difference is likely due to the TSG data coming from higher in the water column than the CTD observations. Salinity: The TSG salinity was lower than the 4m CTD salinity by a median value of 0.56psu. This difference will be partly due to the TSG data coming from higher in the water column than the CTD data, though that effect is thought to be small. There is likely some calibration drift but that is not usually large. There is evidence that bubbles may be present in the loop water leading to low TASG salinity. The salinity errors likely vary from cast to cast. There is insufficient information to enable reliable salinity recalibration. Temperature:Primary - The temperature data from the lab were recalibrated based on the history of the TSG and comparison with CTD data from 4m to create a proxy for intake temperature. The correction to remove estimated heating in the loop was -0.06 C degrees. Temperature:Lab - These are uncorrected temperature data from the TSG.
