CTDEDIT was used to remove records from the top and bottom of the cast and records corrupted by shed wakes; salinity was cleaned lightly. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Data Processing Notes: ---------------------- Transmissivity, Fluorescence, PAR and PAR:Reference data are nominal and unedited except that some records were removed in editing temperature and salinity. For details on how the transmissivity calibration parameters were calculated see the document in folder "\cruise_data\documents\transmissivity". Based on the recommendation from SeaBird, the method for calibration of Dissolved Oxygen concentration was changed from that used for 2011 and some 2012 cruises. For more information see the SeaBird Application Note #64-2, June 2012 revision. The Oxygen:Dissolved:SBE data are considered, very roughly, to be: ±0.6 mL/L from 0 to 50db ±0.2 mL/L from 50 to 100db ±0.1 mL/L from 100 to 200db ±0.05 mL/L below 200db The two CTD salinity channels were generally within 0.001 of each other. The comparison with bottles had a lot of scatter, but the average difference showed the CTD primary salinity to be higher than bottles by an average of 0.0002 when a few outliers were excluded. During a cruise in February 2013 with a lot of deep sampling, the salinity was found to be within 0.001 of bottle samples. A pH sensor was attached to the CTD, but the data are not included in the files to be placed in the IOS Data Library because no field calibration information was available at the time of processing, and there are some concerns about how the sensors perform.
