The average of two samples is reported. Variability is assessed as the CV% (std dev / mean*100). Flags and comments apply to chlorophyll values only. Salinity samples were collected in 200 mL type ll glass bottles with reusable silicone inserts supplied by Xiamen Cuten Accessories Industry, Ltd. and screw caps supplied by Ocean Scientific International Limited. They were analyzed in a temperature-controlled lab at IOS on a Guildline 8400B salinometer standardized with IAPSO standard seawater 6 days after collection. Nutrient samples were analyzed in duplicate following methods described in IOS Nutrient Methods (1996) Barwell-Clarke and Whitney. CTD data were taken from the downcast at 11m due to much higher data quality during downcasts. For a few casts acquisition started late so no CTD data are available. Transmissivity and Fluorescence data are nominal and unedited except that some records were removed in editing temperature and salinity. There was no calibration sampling for dissolved oxygen, but the result of cruise 2012-06 was used to derive DO concentration. For details on how the transmissivity calibration parameters were calculated see the document in folder "\cruise_data\documents\transmissivity". Some casts were not processed due to problems with both temperature sensors.
