The DO voltage appears to have 2 stable states, one having higher noise level than the other. The high-noise segments produce DO data that is approximately 0.24mL/L lower than the low-noise segments (based on comparisons with bottles.) For most casts the whole downcast has one or the other state, but for this cast there is a mix of the two. The higher noise level segments have been recalibrated to add 0.24mL/L to each point. CTDEDIT was used to remove the records between the 2 sections because there was a spiky and gradual shift between them. For details on this problem see the processing report in the DOC folder. The descent rate of the CTD was extremely noisy with many reversals of direction. CTDEDIT was used to remove many records corrupted by shed wakes; salinity was cleaned. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Transmissivity, fluorescence and PAR data are nominal and unedited except that some records were removed in editing temperature and salinity. The pH:SBE channel was removed from the files because sensor performance and recalibration are being studied and are not yet considered ready for the archive. The SBE Dissolved Oxygen sensor behaved poorly for all or part of some casts with concentration values offset by approximately 0.24mL/L from the normal looking casts. Data were recalibrated by applying an offset as appears needed and by removing some data where the DO shifted from one regime to the other. The shifts were sometimes very clear, but for some casts the decision was made based on the noise level in the oxygen voltage. For these reasons the data must be considered of lower quality than usual.
