CTDEDIT was used to remove surface records and records corrupted by shed wakes; salinity was cleaned. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Transmissivity, fluorescence and PAR data are nominal and unedited except that some records were removed in editing temperature and salinity. The pH:SBE channel was removed from the files because sensor performance and recalibration are being studied and are not yet considered ready for the archive. The SBE Dissolved Oxygen sensor behaved poorly for all or part of some casts with concentration values offset by approximately 0.24mL/L from the normal looking casts. Data were recalibrated by applying an offset as appears needed and by removing some data where the DO shifted from one regime to the other. The shifts were sometimes very clear, but for some casts the decision was made based on the noise level in the oxygen voltage. For these reasons the data must be considered of lower quality than usual. The precision of the SBE dissolved oxygen channel is difficult to estimate because the comparison with bottles was complex and noisy, but roughly, the DO should be considered: • ±0.4 ml/l from 0-300 db • ±0.25ml/l from 300-500 db • ±0.1 ml/l below 500db For details on the processing see processing report: 2010-36-proc.doc. *CALIBRATION $TABLE: CORRECTED CHANNELS !
