Chlorophyll precision was determined by analyzing replicate samples drawn from one Niskin. For details see worksheet “Precision” in file QF2010-12 CHL.xls. Oxygen samples were analyzed at sea using an automated Winkler titration system consisting of a Brinkmann 765 Dosimat, with a PC950 colorimeter with a 450nm filter, using the procedures of Carpenter (1965). For details and precision analysis see document 2010-12oxy.xlsx. Salinity samples were collected in glass bottles and analyzed at IOS on a Guildline model 8400B Autosal (S/N 69086) standardized with IAPSO standard seawater. See file 2009-12-salinity-duplicates.xls for information on precision and 2010-12-sals.xls for analysis output. Nutrient samples were collected in plastic tubes and most were analyzed frozen at IOS using an Astoria autoanalyzer following methods described in Barwell-Clarke and Whitney (1996). Deep Silicate samples (400m and below) were analyzed cool at IOS. For full data and details on nutrient duplicates and precision see file QF2010-12nuts.xls. Ammonia samples were analysed fresh at sea using a TD700 fluorometer. For more information including details on precision see 2010-12_NH4.xls. References: 1. Carpenter, J.H. 1965. In August 2010 a study was made of transmissivity that led to a decision to apply post-processing corrections to all cruises between March 2008 and June 2010. Transmissivity data from this cruise were corrected by multiplying the original values by correction factor 2.44, which was based on the assumption that deep offshore transmissivity should be about 62%/m. For details on the transmissometer post-processing see: OSD_Data_Archive:\Cruise_Data\DOCUMENTS\Transmissometer 1005DR Corrections.doc These data should still be considered nominal. ********************************************************************************** July 2013: A correction has been applied to Nitrate_plus_Nitrite and Phosphate data from deep-water cruises analyzed at IOS between 2009 and 2012. For details see the following report: Corrections to Nitrate and Phosphate for Deep-Water Cruises from 2009 to 2012.pdf which is stored in folder: \\Cruise_Data\DOCUMENTS\Analysis Reference Papers *CALIBRATION $TABLE: CORRECTED CHANNELS !
