Samples were extracted in 90% acetone for 24 hours and analyzed in the lab on a Turner 10AU fluorometer which is calibrated annually with commercially pure chlorophyll a (Sigma). Fluorescence readings taken before and after acidification were used to calculate chlorophyll and phaeopigment concentrations (Holm-Hansen 1965). For analysis results, see files "2010-03-nut-chl.csv" and 2010-03-duplicate study-nut-chl.xls". NOTE: Phaeopigment data are provided for information only and no quality flags are assigned to them. Salinity samples were collected in glass bottles and analyzed on Guildline Autosal model 8400B, S/N 69086, at IOS. Salinometers are standardized with IAPSO standard seawater. For analysis results see file 2010-03-sal.csv. Nutrient samples were collected in plastic tubes and stored frozen and later analysed at IOS using an Astoria analyzer following methods described in Barwell-Clarke and Whitney (1996). CTD data were taken from the downcast at 9db. For a few casts no CTD data were available at the sampling level. Transmissivity data are nominal and unedited except that some records were removed in editing temperature and salinity. The fluorescence data have been removed because of instrumental problems. Based on comparison with bottle samples from around 10m during the upcast of well-mixed casts, the primary salinity appears to be within +/-0.002. Dissolved Oxygen data were recalibrated based on the results of cruise 2009-09 because there was no calibration sampling during this cruise. Since it is likely that some drift had occurred, these data must be considered less reliable than usual.
