CTDEDIT was used to remove surface records to 4.8db and to remove many records corrupted by shed wakes; salinity was cleaned lightly. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Transmissivity and fluorescence are nominal and unedited except that some records were removed in editing temperature and salinity. The transmissometer has not been recalibrated since 2006; the values appear to be too low, but there is insufficient evidence to enable correction. The dissolved oxygen gradients were often very high near the surface and variability was high throughout the profile for many of the casts. The precision of the SBE dissolved oxygen channel is estimated on the basis of a comparison to bottle data to be, roughly: • ±2.5 ml/l from 0-20 db • ±0.5 ml/l from 20-50 db • ±0.3 ml/l from 50-250 db • ±0.1 ml/l below 250 db There were no salinity samples available, so no recalibration was applied, but based on the history of the sensor it is believed to be within ±0.002.
