No recalibration was applied to the SBE Dissolved Oxygen data. The dissolved oxygen calibration data were considered unreliable. This was the first use of the sensor after factory calibration, and no significant problems were found when it was next recalibrated in Nov. 2009. Surface Dissolved Oxygen saturations looked reasonable. For more detail see report 2009-53_proc.doc. Analysis methods: ----------------- Oxygen samples are analyzed on an automated Winkler titration system following the procedures of Carpenter (1965). Samples were analyzed at sea using an automated titration system consisting of a Brinkman Dosimat (model 665) and a PC 900 Colorimeter. (See note about standardization parameters above.) Salinity samples were collected in glass bottles and analyzed on a Guildline model 8400B Autosal at IOS. Salinometers are standardized with IAPSO standard seawater. References: 1.
