Analysis methods: ----------------- Oxygen samples were analyzed at sea using an automated titration system consisting of a Brinkman Dosimat (model 765) and a PC 950 Colorimeter. Post-cruise reprocessing was done; for details see documents 2009-38-proc.doc and the "IOS Manual Recalc" page of file 2009-38-oxy.xls. For information on precision see file 2009-38-oxy.xls Nutrient samples were collected in plastic tubes and stored frozen and later analysed at IOS using an Astoria analyzer following methods described in Barwell-Clarke and Whitney (1996). File "QF 2009-26nuts.xls" includes the raw data and an analysis of duplicates. References: 1. Carpenter, J.H. 1965. The Chesapeake Bay Institute Technique for the Winkler Dissolved Oxygen Method. In August 2010 a study was made of transmissivity that led to a decision to apply post-processing corrections to all cruises between March 2008 and June 2010. Transmissivity data from this cruise were corrected by multiplying the original values by a correction factor, which was based on assumptions that deep offshore transmissivity from a June 2009 cruise should be about 62%/m and that drift was linear with time between March 2008 and July 2009. The corrections produced reasonable results for all cruises in that time period. For details on how the correction factor was derived see: OSD_Data_Archive:\Cruise_Data\DOCUMENTS\Transmissometer 1005DR Corrections.doc These data should be considered estimates. ********************************************************************************* *CALIBRATION $TABLE: CORRECTED CHANNELS !
