Analysis methods: ----------------- Chlorophyll samples were analyzed at sea using a Chemistry Turner Designs 10AU fluorometer which was calibrated on May 13, 2009 using pure chlorophyll a. Chlorophyll precision was determined by analyzing replicate samples drawn from one Niskin. For details see worksheet “Precision” in file QF 2009-10CHL.xls. Oxygen samples were analyzed at sea using an automated titration system consisting of a Brinkman Dosimat (model 665) and a PC 950 Colorimeter. For information on precision see file 2009-11oxy.xls. Endpoint titers were optimized in post-processing using a best fit linear regression utility Salinity samples were collected in glass bottles and analyzed at IOS on a Guildline model 8400B Autosal standardized with IAPSO standard seawater. Samples from two casts were analyzed at sea on a Guildline Portasal; there are comments attached to those samples and all were flagged "d". Nutrient samples were collected in plastic tubes and analyzed fresh at sea using an Astoria Pacific autoanalyzer following methods described in Barwell-Clarke and Whitney (1996).
