Sampling System --------------- The seawater is drawn from a 20-cm x 56-cm standpipe, flush with the hull and located 4.5 metres below the water line, and pumped approximately 50 metres through a 5-cm stainless steel insulated pipe up to the main lab. Between the intake and the pump is a 24 x 24-cm stainless steel strainer (1/2-cm grid). The pump is a Moyno model 2L6 stainless steel progressive cavity pump with flow and pressure control. In the lab, the seawater flows through a deairator (56-cm x15-cm diameter plexiglass cylinder) to remove air bubbles and then into the Seabird model 21 Seacat thermosalinograph. ********************************************************************** Fluorescence is nominal. Temperature Primary: The intake temperature was unavailable for this file. As a proxy for intake temperature, the temperature of the water as it came out of the loop in the lab was recalibrated to remove the heating due to ship effects. This correction was based on comparison with CTD temperatures at 4.5db. Temperature Lab: This is the uncorrected temperature recorded by the TSG.
