Chlorophyll precision was determined by analyzing replicate samples drawn from one Niskin. For details see worksheet “Precision” in file QF2009-08CHL.xls. Oxygen samples were analyzed at sea using an automated titration system consisting of a Brinkman Dosimat (model 665) and a PC 950 Colorimeter. For information on precision see file 2009-08_oxy_duplicates.xls. Salinity samples were collected in glass bottles and analyzed at IOS on a Guildline model 8400B Autosal standardized with IAPSO standard seawater. See file 2009-08-salinity-duplicates.xls for information on AUtosal precision. Nutrient samples were collected in plastic tubes and analyzed fresh at sea using an Astoria autoanalyzer following methods described in Barwell-Clarke and Whitney (1996). For details on nutrient duplicates and precision see file QF2009-08nuts.xls. Ammonia samples were analysed fresh at sea using a TD700 fluorometer. References: 1. Carpenter, J.H. 1965. In August 2010 a study was made of transmissivity that led to a decision to apply post-processing corrections to all cruises between March 2008 and June 2010. Transmissivity data from this cruise were corrected by multiplying the original values by a correction factor, which was based on assumptions that deep offshore transmissivity from a June 2009 cruise should be about 62%/m and that drift was linear with time between March 2008 and July 2009. The corrections produced reasonable results for all cruises in that time period. For details on how the correction factor was derived see: OSD_Data_Archive:\Cruise_Data\DOCUMENTS\Transmissometer 1005DR Corrections.doc These data should be considered estimates. ********************************************************************************* July 2013: A correction has been applied to Nitrate_plus_Nitrite and Phosphate data from deep-water cruises analyzed at IOS between 2009 and 2012. For details see the following report: Corrections to Nitrate and Phosphate for Deep-Water Cruises from 2009 to 2012.pdf which is stored in folder: \\Cruise_Data\DOCUMENTS\Analysis Reference Papers *CALIBRATION $TABLE: CORRECTED CHANNELS !
