This is hard to judge because of the limited range of DO sampled during this cast. If there was any effect it was short-lived, as the next cast does not stand out in the general comparison of CTD sensor and bottle DO. ***************************************************************************************** Sample_Number 4: Salinity: program didn't record three values I have on hardcopy. But they are t Sample_Number 5: Salinity: Duplicates (31.1620/31.1575) differ by 0.0045 Sample_Number 11: Salinity: reading 4 is suspect - I stopped for ten minutes in between reading 3 Sample_Numbers 5-11: There are concerns about these samples due to problems noted by the analyst, difference between duplciates and fairly large differences in COMPARE. Sample_Number 1: Did not analyze for nitrate due to H2S Sample_Number 2: Did not analyze for nitrate due to H2S Sample_Number 3: Did not analyze for nitrate due to H2S Analysis methods: ----------------- Chlorophyll samples were analyzed at sea using a Chemistry Turner 10 AU fluorometer which was calibrated on April 23, 2008 using pure chlorophyll a. Chlorophyll precision was determined by analyzing replicate samples drawn from one Niskin. For details see worksheet “Precision” in file QF2008-10CHL.xls. Oxygen samples were analyzed on an automated Winkler titration system following the procedures of Carpenter (1965). Samples were analyzed at sea using an automated titration system consisting of a Brinkman Dosimat (model 665) and a PC 900 Colorimeter. For details on precision see file 2008-10-oxy-duplicates.xls. Salinity samples were collected in glass bottles and analyzed on a Guildline model 8400B Autosal at IOS or a Guildline Portasal 8410A at sea. Salinometers are standardized with IAPSO standard seawater. See file 2008-10-sal-duplicates.xls for information on precision. Nutrient samples were analyzed at sea using an Astoria-Pacific analyzer following methods described in Barwell-Clarke and Whitney (1996). For details on nutrient duplicates and precision see file QF2008-10nuts M.xls. Ammonia samples were analyzed at sea using a TD700 fluorometer. For details on precision see document QF2008-10NH4.xls.
