Downcast data were heavily corrupted for some casts; for all but one of those, the upcast data were better and were chosen for archiving. Whenever upcast data were selected a special note was made in the header. There was no salinity calibration sampling; no recalibration was applied. SeaCat salinity is prone to error due to a mismatch of conductivity and temperature response times, especially when the descent rate is non-uniform. Such errors are likely to be larger than calibration errors. SeaCat salinity errors are expected to be as high as 0.05 units in areas of high gradients. **************************************************************************** !--1--- ---2---- ---3---- -4-- !Pressu Temperat Salinity Numb !re ure :T0:C0 er_o ! ~bin ! _rec ! ords !------ -------- -------- ---- *END OF HEADER 1.0 12.2276 9.9083 8 1.9 11.6769 11.9230 9 3.0 11.2290 14.2778 7 3.9 10.8886 16.6698 7 4.9 10.1601 20.7379 7 5.9 9.8178 22.7839 7 6.9 9.4131 24.6462 7 7.9 9.2873 25.3276 8 9.0 9.0032 26.4730 7 9.9 8.8588 27.0595 6 10.9 8.6161 27.8267 7 11.9 8.4294 28.4301 7 12.9 8.4167 28.5393 7 13.9 8.3884 28.6357 6 15.0 8.3751 28.6820 7 16.0 8.3296 28.8448 6 16.9 8.0283 29.5392 6 17.9 7.8628 29.9494 6 19.0 7.8130 30.0741 7 20.0 7.8041 30.0910 6 21.0 7.7951 30.1073 6 22.0 7.7866 30.1197 6 23.0 7.7843 30.1241 6 24.0 7.7795 30.1325 6 24.9 7.7789 30.1332 6 26.0 7.7809 30.1294 7 27.0 7.7807 30.1306 6 27.9 7.7769 30.1371 6 28.9 7.7693 30.1501 7 30.0 7.7712 30.1491 6 31.0 7.7589 30.1681 6 32.0 7.7610 30.1651 6 33.0 7.7635 30.1604 6 34.0 7.7623 30.1627 6 35.0 7.7615 30.1646 6 36.0 7.7591 30.1693 6 36.9 7.7572 30.1736 7 37.9 7.7573 30.1730 8 38.9 7.7560 30.1735 8 39.9 7.7579 30.1703 9 40.8 7.7576 30.1719 8
