During the downcasts the salinity data ccasionally shifted to values that were high and then returned to normal values. The temperature change is not usually obvious, but the values appear to be low in these sections. Upcast data has similar problems with excursions of the opposite sign. This cast was heavily affected in this way. CTDEDIT was used to remove surface records to 4.2db and a few records corrupted by shed wakes near the bottom. Salinity was cleaned lightly. Large sections of data with unbelievable values were removed. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Transmissivity and fluorescence are nominal and unedited except that some records were removed in editing temperature and salinity. The dissolved oxygen data in the CTD files should be considered • ±0.5ml/l from 0 –75db. • ±0.8ml/l from 75 to 300db; data tend to be somewhat high in this high gradient region. • ±0.25ml/l below 300. • data below 800db tend to be low. • data below 1200db are considered unreliable by the manufacturer. *CALIBRATION $TABLE: CORRECTED CHANNELS !
