The purpose of the nutrient samples was to explore whether uptake of cadium by oysters is accelerated during periods of upwelling and/or mixing of surface with deeper waters. The samples were shipped to the Institute of Ocean Sciences for analysis. Samples were analyzed November 8, 2002 using a Technicon AutoAnalyzer using methods described in Barwell-Clarke and Whitney, 1996.
