The average of 2 samples is reported. Variability is assessed as the % (std dev/mean*100). For analysis results, see file "2002-38_CHL.xls". Salinity samples are collected in glass bottles and analyzed on Guildline model 8410 Portasal Salinometers which are standardized with IAPSO standard seawater. Salinity data were obtained from paper records. Nutrient samples were collected in plastic tubes and stored frozen and later analysed at IOS using a Technicon AA II analyzer following methods described in Barwell-Clarke and Whitney (1996). For analysis results, see files "NUTRIENT SUMMARY 2002-38.xls". ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CTD Data Processing Notes: ---------------------- A Niskin bottle was attached about 5m above the CTD which was stopped at about 15m for sampling, so CTD data were taken from the downcast at 10db except for 3 bottles that were closed near the bottom. For some casts there were no CTD available at the sampling level. The salinity calibration is based on few bottles and there are some concerns about how well the pump was working. The transmissometer did not perform well during this cruise. The channel was removed. The fluorescence data are nominal.
