Several errors in the WOCE sum and hyd files were found - WHPO interpolation of cast events were incorrect especially "BO"ttom of - corrections of sample #'s for Stn # - addition of data for Saanich Inlet station - numerous corrections, additions made to Alkalinity and associated DQ fla - and a few corrections wrt DIC and associated DQ flags WOCE data quality flags (QUALT2) were used when available, else QUALT1 DQ Warning: For Alkalinity (& DIC) data it was noticed that reporting techicians made overly generous use of DQ flag 'i' (ie WOCE DQ flag '9'), instead of using DQ flags ('a','e') (ie WOCE DQ flags ('1','5'). (deg min) LONGITUDE : 165 0.79000 W ! (deg min) $REMARKS This is WOCE Cast # 5 On Sept 6, the Tully sailed west from the mouth of the Juan de Fuca Strait, along Line PR6. After completing 4 stations en route to Station PRS1, the vessel sailed for Dutch Harbour, Alaska, where it refueled. Section P15N (leg 1) started near Dutch Harbour continuing south along 165W. At 24N, the ship gradually shifted west, to coincide with a previous NOAA section, and the planned route of P15S. Most of the scientific crew were changed in Honolulu after 35 days at sea. Section P15N (leg 2) continued on from 20:30'N, following a course that moved gradually westward to 168:45'W at 10N. The ship remained on this longitude through the equator, then began a second southwestward course at 8:30'S that took the ship to 170W x 10S. At 15S, Leg2 ended and the vessel sailed to American Samoa. $END *INSTRUMENT TYPE : Guildline CTD MODEL : 8737, 8705 $REMARKS See details wrt various instruments in COMMENTS section $END *HISTORY $TABLE: PROGRAMS !
