Analysis methods: ----------------- Salinity samples are collected in glass bottles and analyzed on Guildline model 8410 Portasal Salinometers which are standardized with IAPSO standard seawater. Nutrient samples are analyzed fresh on board using a Technicon AAII auto- analyzer following methods described in Barwell-Clarke and Whitney (1996). Total Alkalinity was determined by Potentiometric Titrations using the Edmond Closed Cell, Non-Linear Method. All total alkalinity data prior to and including cruise 1999-01 are of poor quality and should be used with caution. Users should consult the PACIFICA corrected values at CDIAC for estimates of these errors. References: 1. Carpenter, J.H. 1965.
