Holes were augered in the ice and a tent heated by Master Heater was placed over the hole for sampling. Sampling was done by hand winch with 1.7L and 5L Niskins or by a submersible pump. "Samples were taken in the following order : dissolved oxygen, salinity, nutrients and oxygen isotopes." CFCs and salinities were sampled in separate casts using 5L Niskin bottles. "Samples were stored in an insulated, temperature controlled box to prevent them from freezing during transport to the lab in Tuk." All samples except for oxygen isotopes were analyzed in the lab at Tuk. No Reversing thermometers were used for these casts. One or more CTD casts were done at all stations. See data report cited above for temperature data extracted from the ctd casts s at approximate bottle depths and cast information on ctds. Judgement must be used in using the ctd temperatures with the bottle data. Sample and bottom depths reported are nominal hydrostatic depths. Hydrostatic depth = (ice thickness - freeboard) + under ice depth See data report cited above for freeboard data. !---1--- ---2--- ---3--- --4-- --5-- --6--- !Sample_ Depth: Salinit Nitra Silic Phosph !Number Nominal y: te_ ate ate !
