The data come from the Costa Rica to Saanich Inlet leg of the Hudson 81 cruise. Data collected during the cruise included CTD casts, Hydro casts, XBT casts, underway sampling using a thermosalinograph. As of July 2017 the CTD and underway sampling data were missing. Included were original paper computer output, a Bridge Log, logs from various sample collections and analysis and a CTD log. No notes were found about analysis methods. There are some paper records with surface bucket sample measurements. There were many XBT casts that have a separate numbering system; some were at stations where hydro casts were run. The station names are consistent in the two data sets, but event numbers are not. It is believed that the CTD event numbers are consistent with the hydro cast numbers. The information from the paper records were entered into a spreadsheet and then converted to IOS Header format.
