Water samples were taken with Niskin bottles. Temperatures were obtained with reversing thermometers at each depth. Accuracy of the temperature taken with reversing thermometers is +- 0.02 C but reported to nearest 0.01 C. Salinity determinations were carried out using an Guildline AutoSal. Accuracy of the salinity determinations is +- 0.005PSU. Dissolved oxygen determination were carried out using a modified Winkler method according to the procedures described by Strickland and Parsons (1965).
