Analysis was carried out within one day. Salinity samples were collected and stored in glass 300 ml screw-cap bottles. Nutrients were collected in duplicate in IN HCl acid-washed glass (for PO4) and plastic vials (for Si03 and N03) which were inserted directly into the sampling tray of a Technicon Autoana1yser II. For more details including a summary of precision and accuracy see the report cited below. Samples for particle size analysis were collected in salinity-type glass bottles reserved exclusively for that purpose. Due to uncertainties in the quality of these data, they are not included in the bottle files. The data can be found in the Erickson report. Reference: Erickson, 1979, Kitimat Hydrocarbon Baseline Study: Oceanographic Observations. The report was part of a Seakem Oceanography Limited contract with the Institute of Ocean Sciences. (The report may be found in the documents folder.) Data Processing Notes: ---------------------- These data were transcribed from the report noted above.
