Salinity surface sample were obtained from a seawater loop. When the seawater loop was not operational these samples were obtained with a bucket, and are indicated with '*' in the data record. This was changed to Flag:Sample_Method with a value of 2 instead of '*'. The source of the nutrient samples is assumed to be from the loop unless the loop was not operational. Analyzes methods: ----------------- Surface water temperatures were measured from a bucket sample using a deck thermometer of +-0.1 degrees Celsius accuracy. The salinity determinations were made at sea using with either an Auto- Lab Model 601 MK III inductive salinometer or a Hytech Model 6220 lab salinometer. Accuracy using duplicate determinations is estimated to be +/- 0.003 ppt. Nutrient samples were frozen for analyzes ashore. Nutrients were analyzed using methods from Bulletin 125 Fisheries Research Board of Canada 1960 "A manual of seawater analysis" J.D.H. Strickland and T.R. Parsons, and subsequent editions.
