    The data in this file were transcribed by B. Minkley from the publication:

         Pacific Oceanographic Group, 1958

    Further checks of data were performed by G. Gatien, and further reformatting was applied.
    Quality flags had been added but all were set to 1 even for pad values. There were
      no definitions of the flags, and no indication in the original files to suggest
      they were assigned by the analysts. The flag channels were removed.
