    The data in this file were transcribed by B. Minkley from the publication:
         Canadian Joint Committee on Oceanography
         Physical, chemical and Plankton data record
         Project NORPAC  July 26 to September 1, 1955
         Pacific Oceanographic Group, 1955

    Further checks of data were performed by G. Gatien, and further reformatting was applied.
    There were quality flags provided, but most were set to 1 even for pad values. There were
      no definitions of the flags, and no indication in the original files to suggest they
      were assigned by the analysts. There were cases of flags 3 or 4 assigned because of
      reversals in dissolved oxygen or salinity - but other nearby casts had similar
      features at the same depths. The flag channels were removed.
