Cruise description

This cruise was a success. All stations were visited but one, and all casts were performed. Unfortunately we did not collect any trace metal samples since the person in charge of these samples could not sail. The biggest challenge of the cruise was to plan the mooring work at Station P around the mooring work performed by the RV Melville, working in the same area as the CCGS John P Tully during the same four days we were near Station P. It turned out that operations were done without any conflict and even the weather cooperated on mooring day.
We deployed three weather data drifting buoys for Environment Canada and ten were deployed for NOAA. We also deployed two experimental drifters for Tom Juhasz from IOS.
The regular sampling done during this cruise was completed using a CTD, a Rosette, a Bongo, and a Multiple Plankton Sampler (MPS) to collect zooplankton to 2000 dbar at P16 and 3000 dbar at P26.
