Cruise description

This cruise was a bit of a challenge. The weather was pretty rough, we had to go back to port because of illness, and some equipment and samples were lost. Despite all this we managed to do about 65% of the planned sampling. The drifting sediment trap experiment had to be cancelled due to weather.
We deployed a MetOcean float at Papa for IOS/DFO. Two Iridium floats were also deployed at Papa for the University of Washington/Applied Physics Lab. One MetOcean float deployment for IOS/DFO at P21 was cancelled. Finally we deployed one weather data drifting buoy for Environment Canada.
The regular sampling done during this cruise was completed using a CTD, a Rosette, and a Bongo. Two 250-m bongo casts were done at each major station - one for DFO/IOS and one for the University of Rhode Island. Finally we did some Trace Metal sampling in the chains using a clean pump and some X-Niskin bottles.

Please note: Since the DMS analyst could not participate in the cruise at the very last minute, there are no DMS/DMSp data from this cruise.
