USW - Sample drawn from a pumped seawater supply provided to the ship laboratory from a nominal depth of 4.5 metres. Analysis methods: ----------------- Chlorophyll samples were analyzed at sea using a Chemistry Turner Designs fluorometer which was calibrated in May 2007 using pure chlorophyll a. Chlorophyll precision was determined by analyzing replicate samples drawn from one Niskin. For details see file 2008-01_CHL.pdf Salinity samples were collected in glass bottles and analyzed on a Guildline model 8400B Autosal or a Guildline Portasal 8410A. Salinometers are standardized with IAPSO standard seawater. See file 2008-01_SAL.pdf for information on precision. Nutrient samples were collected in plastic tubes and analyzed fresh at sea using a Technicon AAII autoanalyzer following methods described in Barwell-Clarke and Whitney (1996).
